State Track Meet

State Middle School track meet was held in La Pine this year. Chad qualified for the 110 meter hurdles. We went down Friday night and stayed at the Best Western hotel. La Pine is a very small town. It took us all of 3 minutes to drive through the whole town. We took the three little girls with us and it was lots of fun. We played in the pool all evening and after breakfast the next morning we took Chad over to the high school. The weather was nice at first but soon the thunder clouds rolled in. Chad won his first preliminary heat with the time of 17.70. He was going to run the 400 meter run but decided not to since the final 110 hurdles and 400 were only 15 minutes apart and he wanted to not wear himself out with the longer run.

Chad came in third place overall. His time being 17.93. He got a slippery start out of the blocks because it was raining at the time. So he said he was going over the hurdles with his left leg instead of his right. That through him off a little. But whatever, I could not make it over one hurdle with any leg! We are very pleased with his new found love of track. It does not hurt that really cute girls also run track! LOL (I think that is what I am supposed to type when I am laughing)
